PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Ho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Loyd Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Perez's choice of entrance music: I AM THE LAW. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Loyd Perez was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Ho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Loyd Perez!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez scores with a jab. Ho acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Perez displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Ho uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Perez.
Perez cracks Ho with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Perez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ho half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Perez swings widly with a right hand

so Ho counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Ho trying to control the position from guard on top but Perez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ho really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Perez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ho showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Perez keeping moving, preventing Ho from controlling successfully.
Ho is stalling in the full guard.
Ho won't allow Perez to sweep him here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ho wants to control from the top but Perez keeps moving.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Perez wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Ho's hips, looking to push off. But Ho grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Perez screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Chris Ho!
