Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Andre Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Severn!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Severn closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Severn trying to control from Perez's half guard. Perez has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Severn postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Perez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Severn, into his guard.


Severn throws his legs up looking for a submission but Perez uses it to pass to side control.
The strikes coming from Perez are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perez working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Severn is trying to escape the position but Perez is controlling the position.

Perez decides to stand up, so the ref orders Severn to his feet.
Severn defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Perez.
Severn is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Perez with a body shot.

Perez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Severn sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Perez tries to counter with a takedown but Severn is quick to defend against it.
Severn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
It looked like Perez was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Severn looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Perez kicks Severn off and gets back to his feet.
Severn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Severn counters with a nice double leg into side control. Perez won't be happy with that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Severn swings around for an armbar but Perez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Severn's guard.
Perez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Perez postures up in Severn's guard and throws a big left but Severn blocks it.
Severn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Severn is not content to let Perez control the position.
Severn is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Perez asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Perez is chipping away with strikes.
Perez wants to control but Severn is keeping him busy.

Perez decides to stand back up.

and Severn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Perez's guard.

Perez kicks Severn off and gets to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Severn slaps away a takedown attempt from Perez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Severn cracks Perez with a right hand to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Perez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Severn fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Perez avoids it really well and circles away.
Andre Perez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Severn dives in and scores a takedown into Perez's guard.

Perez has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Severn is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Perez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Perez enables Severn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Perez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Severn has gone for a leg lock! Perez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Severn's guard.

Severn pulls Perez in to control the position.

Severn is looking for a triangle but Perez pushes his legs off easily.
Severn is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Perez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Severn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Perez has managed to get both his arms back between Severn's legs - danger averted.
Perez lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Perez looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Perez distracts Severn with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Perez's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Severn keeping moving, preventing Perez from controlling successfully.
Andre Perez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Severn is looking for a triangle but Perez pushes his legs off easily.
Severn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Severn is looking for a kimura here.
Severn working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Perez's thigh. Perez counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Severn trying to control but Perez is working from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Severn is looking to pass into half guard but Perez pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Perez is in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Severn preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Severn utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Severn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Perez is one step ahead there.
Severn is still trying to improve position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Perez is in close to Severn's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Severn looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Perez passes into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Severn goes for a double leg but Perez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Perez continues to drive forward.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Perez manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Perez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Severn can do to turn this around?
Severn throws a strike but Perez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Perez with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Perez lands a couple of elbows.

Severn is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Perez wants to control from the top but Severn keeps moving.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Severn looking for a sweep. Not yet Severn, not yet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Severn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Perez rushes Severn and presses him up against the cage.

Perez drags the fight down to the ground.
Severn in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Severn throws an elbow that misses. Perez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Severn's guard. Nice move by Perez!

Well Perez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
