The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maroney drops Petty with a beautiful combination! Petty stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Maroney is looking for the KO!

It looks like Genaro Petty has been cut.
Maroney throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Maroney instigates a clinch.
Petty misses with the head strike.
Petty could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Petty pushes off an throws an elbow but Maroney leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

It looks like Maroney might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
