The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gonzalez but Gonzalez pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jacobs fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gonzalez to the ground. Jacobs is now in Gonzalez's guard.

Jacobs drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gonzalez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gonzalez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gonzalez!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Gonzalez is going to stand back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Gonzalez has his feet on Jacobs's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Jacobs throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gonzalez was covering up waiting for the punch and Jacobs finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Gonzalez thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Jacobs if he has to take too many more of those.

Jacobs has gone for a leg lock! Gonzalez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jacobs's guard.

Gonzalez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jacobs on the ground.
