Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monroe Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kraz Karabaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Monroe Willis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kraz Karabaz!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karabaz misses with a few strikes there.

Karabaz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Willis is wriggling around but Karabaz manages to pass to half guard.

Willis tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Karabaz should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Well, if Karabaz is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Karabaz has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Karabaz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Karabaz prevents Willis from getting the reversal.
Willis tries to hold on but Karabaz postures up.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Karabaz has eaten all the pies!
Willis is looking to stand up but Karabaz isn't so interested in that idea.
Willis wants to sweep but no luck.
Karabaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Willis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Willis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Willis wants to improve his position but instead Karabaz has moved into half guard.
Willis is trying to control but can't.
Karabaz drops an elbow to the side of Willis's head.

Willis moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Willis has momentary wrist control but Karabaz slips an elbow through the middle.
Karabaz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Karabaz wants to control from the top but Willis keeps moving.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Karabaz forces his way into half guard.
Willis is in trouble now - Karabaz has advanced to mount!

Kraz Karabaz dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Willis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Karabaz is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.

Karabaz feints and as Willis raises his hands in defense, Karabaz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Willis has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Karabaz off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Willis dives in and grabs Karabaz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Karabaz pushes down on Willis's head and hops out.

Karabaz drives through with a takedown into guard.

Willis has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Karabaz is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Karabaz has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Willis regains guard immediately.

Karabaz won't allow Willis to sweep him here.
Karabaz advances position into side control!
Willis is pushing Karabaz's head away, looking to escape. Karabaz manages to hold on to the position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Karabaz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Karabaz decides to stand up, so the ref orders Willis to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Karabaz breaks the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Willis enables Karabaz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Willis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Willis wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Karabaz manages to pass to side control.

Karabaz has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Karabaz manages to capitalize on a mistake by Willis to take his back!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Karabaz lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Karabaz.

Willis defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Karabaz's arms.
I really don't envy Willis right now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Karabaz tries to keep control of the position but Willis is staying busy.
Willis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Karabaz on the ground.

You can see the frustration on Willis's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Willis manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.
The fight stays on the outside here - Willis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Willis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Karabaz circles away quickly and effectively.
No joy there for Willis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Karabaz gets a takedown into half guard.
Willis is not content to let Karabaz control the position.

Willis wants to improve his position but Karabaz is controlling well.

Karabaz decides to return to a standing position.

Karabaz shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kraz Karabaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!



Karabaz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Willis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Karabaz is in Willis's guard.

Karabaz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Willis, up you get!
Willis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Karabaz wants to land a leg kick but Willis is out of range.

Karabaz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Willis napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Willis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Karabaz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Karabaz lands a nice short elbow.

Karabaz decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Willis is defended easily by Karabaz.

Willis gets caught napping as Karabaz dives in and scores a takedown. Willis manages to retain guard.

Willis pushes Karabaz off and scrambles back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Karabaz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Willis was covering up waiting for the punch and Karabaz finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Karabaz wants to control from the top but Willis keeps moving.
Karabaz stands and throws Willis's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Willis gets tackled into the cage by Karabaz. Karabaz maintains the clinch.

Karabaz wants the takedown. Willis is fighting it off but Karabaz persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Willis's guard against the cage.

Willis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Karabaz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Karabaz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Willis throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Karabaz escapes and throws Willis's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Willis is looking for a sweep.
Monroe Willis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kraz Karabaz is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Karabaz wants to control but Willis is keeping him busy.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kraz Karabaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Karabaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
