Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between How Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rainbow Hero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Long comes to the cage accompanied by The Anthem by Onra. Hero is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Пачка сигар. Rainbow Hero has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, How Long!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 3, fighting out of London, Rainbow Hero!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Long finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Long dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hero. That did some damage!
Hero throws a big shot that misses.
Long swings for the body but Hero moves out of range.
Long missing with a left hand there. Hero was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hero! But no joy.
Long throws a poor cross that misses
and Hero counters with a left to the body.
Long uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Long fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hero checks it well.
Hero has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Long finds it's way round the side to connect with Hero's head.
Long uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hero.
Hero gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Long is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hero.
Hero takes a jab right on the kisser.
Long moves out of range as Hero strikes.

and Hero counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Hero misses with a looping left.
Long listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Hero breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Long punishes Hero's body with a nice straight punch.
Long is looking to score with low kicks.
Long looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Long throws a nice outside leg kick.
Long uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hero.
Long throws a body kick, spinning off balance
enabling Hero to counter with a crisp jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Long looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hero is looking to control Long's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hero avoid being mounted?
Hero felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Long lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Hero actively working from the bottom here.
Long performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Hero wants to get back to full guard.
Long working over Hero with some ground and pound. Hero looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Long working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Long landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Long is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Long got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hero has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Long has managed to get both his arms back between Hero's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hero's corner calls for a 1-2. Hero obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Hero tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Long manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Long is looking to counter the offense by Hero and move into the clinch.
Hero avoids the body shot from Long.
Long throws a big shot that misses.
Hero checks a low kick from Long.
Hero pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Long is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hero can do to turn this around?
Long has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hero.
The fight stays on the outside here - Long looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Long lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Hero tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Hero tries to hold on but Long pushes him away.

Long lands with some strikes.
Hero wants to control but Long is having none of it.
Hero working to try and regain half guard.
Long takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Long lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Hero is trying desperately to improve position.
Long is in the full mount, landing strikes.
BOOM! Long connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hero regains half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Long is trying to control. Hero wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Long wants to pass the guard but Hero is keeping the position.

Hero had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Long defends it easily.

Long is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Long postures up in Hero's guard and throws a big left but Hero blocks it.
Long trying to control the position from guard on top but Hero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Long has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hero is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Hero is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Long defends well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Long trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Hero escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Long gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Long makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Long pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hero is keeping the position for now.
Hero can't keep his opponent in guard - Long advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Long is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Long slips a nice elbow through Hero's hands, connecting with Hero's forehead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

How Long dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Hero misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Long.
A jab from Long does it's job there.
A swing and a miss from Long.
Hero throws a shot to the body.

Hero bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Long's head.
Hero swats away the attempt to clinch by Long.

Long looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hero with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Long wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hero keeps working.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Long connects with a nice short shot to Hero's temple.
Hero is trying to control but can't.
Hero trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Long tries to control but Hero wriggling away.

How Long is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hero tries to lock up and control but Long gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
How Long overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Long looking to control but Hero is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Hero sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Hero looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Long is taking a breather. Hero says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Long will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hero works his way to full guard. Good work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Long content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Hero wants to improve his position but Long is controlling well.
Rainbow Hero has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Long takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Hero is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Long pulls his head out easily.
Hero is looking to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Long slows the pace down in half guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

How Long showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Long has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
