The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Reynaldo Lam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lam tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cruz defends well and Lam ends up having to push Cruz into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Cruz cracks Lam with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Cruz has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Lam to stand back up!
Lam takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Cruz is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Cruz closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Lam! Cruz dives in looking to finish! Lam is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
