PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Test Noing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck McCoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Noing kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Seize the Day. Test Noing has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Test Noing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chuck McCoy!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCoy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Noing paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Noing really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McCoy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Noing fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Noing avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Noing fails with an attempt to clinch.
Noing shoots in but no luck this time.
No luck for Noing with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Test Noing. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McCoy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
McCoy closes the distance looking to clinch
and Noing counters with a nice body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCoy wants to clinch but Noing slips to the side

and Noing counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Noing is looking to take a break and control but McCoy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
McCoy tries to kick Noing off but Noing keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Noing is tying to control. McCoy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Noing tries to pass to full mount but McCoy defends it.
McCoy is doing well to control the position and prevent Noing from advancing to side control.

Noing wants to take a breather but McCoy is having none of it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Noing swats away the attempt to clinch by McCoy.
McCoy stuffs the takedown.
Noing shoots for a takedown but McCoy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Noing counters with a takedown into side control.

McCoy is looking to reverse the position.
Noing tries to move to mount but McCoy blocks the move with his legs.
McCoy is looking for a sweep.
McCoy manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Noing tries to get to full guard but McCoy has control of the leg.
McCoy content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

McCoy decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
McCoy tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Noing counters with a good, hard body kick but McCoy shrugs it off.
Noing swats away the attempt to clinch by McCoy.

McCoy has closed the distance and engaged Noing in a clinch.
Noing jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McCoy walks away with a smile on his face. Noing gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Noing circles away from the clinch attempt.
McCoy fails in his attempt to clinch.
McCoy swings for the body but Noing moves out of range.
Noing keeps the fight on the outside.
McCoy is looking to clinch but Noing is avoiding it.

Noing tries to clinch but McCoy is having none of it.

McCoy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Noing tries to roll over but McCoy keeps him under control.
Still in half guard, McCoy seems content to control.
Noing slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Noing is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Test Noing will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


McCoy keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Noing swats away the attempt to clinch by McCoy.
Noing with a lazy takedown attempt

and McCoy counters with a nice double leg into side control. Noing won't be happy with that.

McCoy decides to stand up, so the ref orders Noing to his feet.

McCoy feints and as Noing raises his hands in defense, McCoy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
McCoy is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
McCoy looking to pass the guard.
Noing being controlled here, momentarily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McCoy gets to his feet. Noing looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

McCoy moves into the clinch successfully.
McCoy stalling.

Noing drags the fight down to the ground.
Noing trying to keep a closed guard but McCoy is proving a slippery customer.
McCoy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
McCoy looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Noing controls McCoy momentarily but McCoy frees himself.

Noing looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
McCoy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McCoy stays in close to Noing's body and controls the position.
Noing can't keep his opponent in guard - McCoy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

McCoy decides to return to a standing position.
Noing fails with the takedown

and McCoy counters with a single leg into guard. Noing didn't expect that.
Noing trying to keep a closed guard but McCoy is proving a slippery customer.
Noing looking to hit a scissor sweep but McCoy is one step ahead there.

Noing has his foot on McCoy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McCoy works his way back into a safe position though.

McCoy's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Chuck McCoy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Noing tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McCoy smiles and moves away.

and McCoy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
McCoy controls from within his opponent's guard.

Noing is looking for a triangle but McCoy pushes his legs off easily.

McCoy stopping the sweep attempt from Noing.
McCoy postures up.
McCoy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Let's hope that McCoy has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Noing not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

McCoy gets to his feet - Noing follows without any prompting.
McCoy is looking to clinch but Noing is avoiding it.

Noing passes to side control.
Noing wants to stand but McCoy is controlling his arm.
Noing trying to control the position but McCoy is working away.

You can see the frustration on McCoy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
McCoy isn't going anywhere.
Noing creates some space and throws a big elbow, but McCoy sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Noing is looking to take a break and control but McCoy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Chuck McCoy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McCoy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
