McGregor comes to the cage accompanied by El Chapo by The Game. Conor McGregor has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor lands with a slapping head kick.
Avery darts in looking for a takedown but McGregor gets double underhooks and turns Avery into the cage.
McGregor appears to be looking for a big counter.
Both fighters circling a little - McGregor finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Avery forces McGregor back against the cage and clinches.

Avery breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Avery looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Avery misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nice shot lands for McGregor.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGregor takes a swing at Avery's ribcage but misses.
A little jabbing left from Avery on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Avery shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McGregor pinned against the cage. McGregor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Avery closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Avery takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Avery pulls McGregor in close to prevent any damage.

Avery looking to hit a scissor sweep but McGregor is one step ahead there.

Avery shoots in looking for a takedown. McGregor tries to sprawl out of it but Avery keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McGregor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McGregor throws a counter high kick but Avery was just alert enough to avoid it.
McGregor goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
McGregor lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Conor McGregor will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

McGregor is trying to force a seperation but Avery has the dominant position.

McGregor tries to circle away but Avery has him pinned against the cage.
McGregor has had enough of the clinch but Avery keeps him there for the moment.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Avery's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from McGregor! Avery is out on his feet! McGregor rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Avery is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Avery is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Conor McGregor!
Conor McGregor spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
