PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thickski Brickhackski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Logan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Thickski Brickhackski has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Thickski Brickhackski seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thickski Brickhackski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jimmy Logan!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brickhackski misses with the combination.
Brickhackski takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Logan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Brickhackski keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brickhackski shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Logan eats them both and turns towards Brickhackski to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Brickhackski closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Logan quickly recovers to half guard.

Brickhackski decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Logan tries to close the distance and clinch but Brickhackski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Brickhackski fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Logan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Brickhackski looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Brickhackski works Logan's body with a nice hook.

Logan moves into the clinch successfully.
A right handed body shot lands from Logan.
Logan keeps control of Brickhackski as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Logan throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Brickhackski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Logan is looking to clinch but Brickhackski is avoiding it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Brickhackski is defended easily by Logan.

Brickhackski has closed the distance and engaged Logan in a clinch.

Logan lands a left hand that snaps the head of Brickhackski backwards.

Logan has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Brickhackski seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Logan can turn it around.

A bone on bone clash there as Logan blocks the leg kick.
Brickhackski with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Logan to score with a decent uppercut.

As Logan looks to move away, Brickhackski throws a big counter combo but Logan just gets out of the way.
Logan just misses with a punch to the body.

Brickhackski postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Logan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Brickhackski, into his guard.

Brickhackski looking for subs off his back but Logan has passed one foot through into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Thickski Brickhackski will probably get the nod.

Jimmy Logan decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
