Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bas Dekkers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazuka Fuujin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dekkers comes to the cage accompanied by Shells - Get your roll on. Fuujin has chosen GAMBLER as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bas Dekkers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kazuka Fuujin!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuujin throws the left hand but Dekkers avoids the punch easily.
Dekkers connects with a solid leg kick.
Dekkers throws a body kick that misses.
Dekkers loads up on a big right hand but Fuujin slips the punch.
Dekkers attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Dekkers throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Fuujin moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Bas Dekkers has been cut.
Dekkers cracks the inside of Fuujin's front leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fuujin takes a swing at Dekkers's ribcage but misses.
Dekkers is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Fuujin.
Dekkers tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fuujin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And Fuujin responds with a good body kick, but Dekkers manages to step out the way in time.

Dekkers rushes Fuujin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Fuujin lands a right hand that snaps the head of Dekkers backwards.

I was talking to Dekkers's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Fuujin blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Fuujin tries to work over Dekkers's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Fuujin tries for a takedown. No joy.
Dekkers tries to throw a body punch but Fuujin avoids it by throwing Dekkers back against the cage.
Dekkers misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Fuujin misses with a short punch on the inside.
Knees to the body from Dekkers.
Dekkers is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Dekkers tries to land a knee to the head but Fuujin blocks with his arms.
Fuujin scores with a shoulder strike.
Fuujin stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fuujin has Dekkers pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Fuujin pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dekkers tumbling to the mat - Fuujin dives into Dekkers's guard.
Fuujin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dekkers trying to keep a closed guard but Fuujin is proving a slippery customer.
Fuujin controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Dekkers keeping full guard, as Fuujin tries to pass.
Fuujin trying to control the position from guard on top but Dekkers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fuujin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Dekkers is looking to stand up but Fuujin isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Fuujin tries to free his leg and advance position but Dekkers is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Dekkers tries to sprawl but Fuujin drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Fuujin perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Fuujin trying to control from half guard but Dekkers is working away.
Fuujin stalling.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dekkers wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kazuka Fuujin will probably get the nod.

Fuujin throws a shot from downtown. Dekkers moves away and avoids it.
Dekkers feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Dekkers tries to clinch there but Fuujin circles away.
Dekkers throws a push kick but Fuujin slaps the foot to one side.

Fuujin has hold of one of Dekkers's legs. Dekkers is fighting the takedown attempt but Fuujin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Dekkers wants to improve his position but Fuujin is controlling well.
Fuujin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Dekkers preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Fuujin is looking to advance position but Dekkers won't allow it.
Dekkers is trying to maintain the position but Fuujin is very close to passing his half guard.
Kazuka Fuujin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Fuujin is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Dekkers reverses the position - he's now on top in Fuujin's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fuujin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dekkers defends well.
Fuujin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dekkers is one step ahead there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fuujin lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Fuujin wants to control from the top but Dekkers keeps moving.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kazuka Fuujin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Dekkers is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Fuujin is defending well for now.

Bas Dekkers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazuka Fuujin.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Dekkers.
Fuujin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dekkers smiles and moves away.
Bas Dekkers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dekkers is looking to clinch.
Dekkers connects with a body shot that sends Fuujin's belly button to the back.
Fuujin shoots in but no luck this time.

Dekkers fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fuujin, pushing him back against the cage.
Fuujin fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Dekkers lands a knee to the head.
Dekkers blocks an uppercut.

Fuujin lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Fuujin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dekkers has managed to free his arm - good work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fuujin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dekkers sees it coming and defends easily.
Fuujin is looking to take a break and control but Dekkers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bas Dekkers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dekkers is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fuujin wants to take a breather but Dekkers is having none of it.
Fuujin trying to mount his opponent but Dekkers defends it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fuujin is trying to control. Dekkers wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Dekkers moves into full guard.
Dekkers keeping moving, preventing Fuujin from controlling successfully.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Dekkers takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dekkers throws a head kick that misses.
Dekkers blocks a jab.
Fuujin lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Kazuka Fuujin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dekkers misses the shot to the body.
A jab from Fuujin misses.
Fuujin throws a jab when Dekkers was well out of range.
As Fuujin tries to get set, Dekkers tries to push him back and clinch up but Fuujin manages to avoid the attempt.
Fuujin cracks Dekkers with a good jab.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fuujin's corner calls for a 1-2. Fuujin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Dekkers fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bas Dekkers.
I think Fuujin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
