The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McPhail throws a body punch but Springfield moves out of range.
Springfield drops down looking to force a counter takedown but McPhail defends it well.
Springfield thumps McPhail with a low kick.
McPhail scores with a nice right hand.

and Springfield counters with a body kick that stops McPhail in his tracks momentarily.
Springfield bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Springfield thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Springfield has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for McPhail!

McPhail is squirming around, avoiding Springfield's attempts to control the action.
