Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Augusto Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mickey Hendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hendricks has chosen Wheelz of Steel by Outkast as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mickey Hendricks!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mendes manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hendricks on his heels. He'll look to pass Hendricks's guard now, I'm sure.
Mendes stands and throws Hendricks's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Mendes is looking to take a break and control but Hendricks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hendricks is looking to regain half guard here but Mendes keeps moving and retains side control.

Mendes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hendricks's waist but Hendricks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mendes off to one side.

Mendes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hendricks sprawls well initially but Mendes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mendes, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
