The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Adkins, pushing him back against the cage.
Davis displaying some good clinch control by pressing Adkins up against the cage.

Adkins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Davis throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Adkins has managed to clinch.
Davis goes for a takedown in the clinch but Adkins prevents it.
Adkins jumps guard but Davis stands there with Adkins around his waist. Adkins gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davis is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Davis gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Davis throwing shots but Adkins is blocking nicely.
Adkins is trying to stand back up but Davis is controlling him
Adkins could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Adkins pushes Davis off and gets back to his feet.
Adkins shoots in and drives through. Davis sprawls well.

Adkins pushes Davis up against the cage in a clinch.

Davis breaks from the clinch.
Davis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Adkins stuffs the takedown.
Davis throws a series of punches but Adkins avoids them all with ease.

Adkins takes the fight into the clinch.

Adkins is pressed up against the cage. Davis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Adkins down to the mat. Adkins avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Adkins shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Davis as he jumps to the side.

A combination from Davis does no damage.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Adkins is defended easily by Davis.

Adkins drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Davis is wriggling around but Adkins manages to pass to half guard.

Adkins looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Adkins stops Davis from getting back to his feet.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Davis trying to hold on to Adkins's head to control him but Adkins postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Wylson Davis will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Adkins tries to close the distance and clinch but Davis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Adkins rushes Davis and presses him up against the cage.
Adkins is trying to pull guard but Davis has him pressed against the cage.

Adkins jumps into guard, dragging Davis to the mat.

Davis decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Davis moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Johnathon Adkins has been cut.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Adkins moves into the clinch.
Adkins tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Davis smiles and moves away.
Davis misses with a two punch combination.
Adkins throws a quick counter head kick but Davis was just out of range.

Adkins moves into range and clinches up with Davis.
Davis can't break the clinch.

Davis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Adkins avoids the head kick by Davis.
Davis throws a sloppy head kick and Adkins moves out of range easily.
Adkins tries a head kick but it misses.
Davis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Davis throws the kick towards the body but Adkins avoids it.

Adkins shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Davis napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Davis wants to get back to his feet but Adkins is dominant here and he's now got Davis's back!

Davis is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Adkins gets his way!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Adkins is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Davis knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Davis for a finish.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Davis trying to control the hands but Adkins breaks the grip.
Adkins keeps control of the position as Davis tries to break free.
Adkins has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Davis's body.

Adkins throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Davis!

Adkins is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Davis is tapping out! This one is all over!
