The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McGregor moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Deer shoots and misses
and McGregor cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Deer throws a body kick that misses.
Deer shoots in looking for a takedown but McGregor manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Deer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Deer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Michael Deer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Deer shoots in for a double leg but McGregor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
