Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Janus Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Diccico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Janus Cross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Diccico!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Cross prevents Diccico from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cross looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Diccico is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Diccico is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Cross pulls his head out easily.
Cross is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Diccico is trying to get back to full guard.

Cross seems to be working for a kimura but Diccico defends the submission attempt.
Diccico is pressing down on Cross's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Diccico is looking for a triangle but Cross pushes his legs off easily.
Cross drops back, looking for a kneebar! Diccico looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Diccico looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Diccico!
Cross is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Diccico working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Cross manages to get back to half guard.
Cross has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Diccico is working away from the top position though.
Diccico passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Cross!
Cross is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Diccico is trying to take his opponent's back.
Diccico looks gassed!
Cross tries to hold on but Diccico pushes him away.

Diccico is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Cross is surviving well by controlling Diccico's body position as best he can.
Cross sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Diccico blocks the strikes from Cross.
Cross is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Diccico pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Diccico tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Diccico has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Cross wants to control but Diccico postures up.
Cross is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Diccico off and has taken his back!
Cross just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Diccico is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cross gets his way!
Diccico controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Cross shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Diccico pinned against the cage. Diccico gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Cross slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Cross working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Diccico doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Cross is tightening it up a little... Diccico has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Diccico reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Diccico taps out! nice BJJ there by Cross!
