The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Abate rushes Union and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Abate scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Union really is a fat lump.
Abate lands an elbow that stopped Union in his tracks for a moment.

It looks like Royce Union has been cut.

Union jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Abate walks away with a smile on his face. Union gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Abate enables Union to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Abate manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Abate ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Union's jaw. Union's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Abate does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
