Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tank Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dustin Kruger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kruger has chosen Enter The Spingbok Ninja as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dustin Kruger!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Shamrock misses the target.
A slow jab from Kruger misses its intended target.
Kruger tries to bum rush Shamrock with a series of wild strikes but Shamrock uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kruger smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.


It looks like Tank Shamrock has been cut.
Kruger keeps the fight on the outside.
Kruger cracks the inside of Shamrock's front leg.
Shamrock throws a hook to the side of Kruger's head but Kruger sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kruger throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Shamrock throws a right and a left that both miss.
Shamrock ducks right into an uppercut from Kruger.

Shamrock rushes Kruger and presses him up against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Shamrock creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Shamrock misses with some punches.

Kruger escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kruger has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Shamrock lands with a straight right. Kruger didn't see that one coming.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shamrock bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Shamrock doesn't manage to clinch there - Kruger circles away.

Kruger fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shamrock manages to avoid it.

Kruger ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Shamrock takes the fight into the clinch.

Our sources have told us that Shamrock has been working on his elbows in the gym.

Kruger breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Shamrock drops his hands momentarily and Kruger takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Kruger scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shamrock doesn't seem bothered though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shamrock rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kruger moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Shamrock tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kruger swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kruger will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Shamrock tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kruger manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Shamrock lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Shamrock connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Shamrock throws a hook but Kruger avoids it easily.

Shamrock is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Shamrock wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Shamrock ducks under a wild hook from Kruger.
Shamrock throws a lazy right hand but Kruger sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Shamrock closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Shamrock throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Krugers head.
Shamrock tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Shamrock goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Kruger tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Shamrock's elbow.
A head punch on the inside from Shamrock fails to land.
A short left from Kruger.
Shamrock misses with the head strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dustin Kruger will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Tank Shamrock's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Shamrock swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Shamrock throws a combination that misses
and Kruger counters with a stiff right hand.
Kruger scores with a spinning back kick!
Kruger misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kruger throws a leg kick which misses Shamrock's front leg but catches the back leg as Shamrock tries to avoid it.
Kruger has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kruger misses with an attempted mid kick.
Kruger moves away from the strike by Shamrock.
Kruger throws a leg kick but Shamrock moved away.
A jab from Shamrock does it's job there.
Kruger circles away from the clinch attempt
and Shamrock takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


Tank Shamrock's cut is getting worse.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tank Shamrock's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Kruger pushes Shamrock back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Kruger breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kruger comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Kruger lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Shamrock at a distance.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kruger, right into the meat.
Kruger cracks a nice hook into Shamrock's ribs.

Kruger throws a half hearted mid kick.

Kruger moves into range and clinches up with Shamrock.
Kruger lands a nice shot to the body.
Kruger lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Shamrock backwards.


Jeez, Tank Shamrock's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tank Shamrock's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Dustin Kruger!
Dustin Kruger is the new heavyweight champion!
Dustin Kruger was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
