Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Billy Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murphy comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sinead O'connor The foggy Dews kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith clobbers Murphy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Murphy. Smith shrugs it off though.
A solid leg kick lands there for Smith.
Murphy has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
A big right from Smith misses.
Murphy shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A telegraphed right hand from Smith misses the target.
Billy Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Murphy ducks right into an uppercut from Smith.
Smith lands a body shot.
Smith connects with a body shot.
Murphy misses with a leg kick
and Smith counters with a right hand to the body.
Murphy darts in trying to clinch
and Smith counters with a nice body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Murphy tries to clinch there but Smith circles away.
A little feinted left hand from Smith on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Smith uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Murphy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Smith throws out the jab.
Murphy walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

That's one minute gone in the round.
and Smith counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Murphy! He's just covering up as Smith starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Michael Murphy was interviewed post fight and said 'I was not efficent with my energy'.
