Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gordon Mundi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mundi has chosen Swallow The Sun - Hold This Woe as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Cain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Gordon Mundi!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Cain throws a shot from downtown. Mundi moves away and avoids it.
Mundi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Cain scores with a decent looking hook.
Cain throws a solid leg kick but Mundi takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Cain.
Cain uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Cain takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Cain has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The fighters circling - Cain throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

It looks like David Cain has been cut.

Mundi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Cain is looking to slow Mundi down with leg kicks.
A punch lands to the side of Mundi 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Mundi drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Cain defends it well.

Cain lunges at Mundi with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mundi's hand.
Cain looks to land a right hand but Mundi moved out of range.

Cain thows a left - swing and a miss!

Mundi keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Mundi tries to counter by closing the distance.
Cain is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

enabling Mundi to counter with a crisp jab.
Mundi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Cain.
Mundi checks a low kick from Cain.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cain fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Mundi is out of range.
It seemed like Mundi was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Mundi defending well as Cain loads up on a big left hand.

Cain throws a hook to the side of Mundi's head but Mundi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mundi ducks right into an uppercut from Cain.
Cain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mundi changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Mundi moves out of range as Cain strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cain loads up on a big right hand but Mundi slips the punch.
Mundi shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Cain looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
David Cain is winning the standup battle so far.
Cain misses with a lunging right hand
and Mundi counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Mundi moves out of range of the body kick.
Mundi tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Cain connects with a body shot that sends Mundi's belly button to the back.

Cain throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Cain moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Cain fakes the leg kick and cracks Mundi in the body.
Cain throws a push kick but Mundi slaps the foot to one side.
Mundi chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cain can pounce on him.

Cain pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mundi is out of range and Cain settles back down.
As Cain backs off Mundi throws a huge counter combo but Cain manages to avoid it all.
Cain moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Gordon Mundi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cain misses with a leg kick

and Mundi counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Cain gets full guard.
Cain has his hands on Mundi's head, controlling the position.
Mundi in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cain tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Cain is working hard here to advance position.
Cain looking to control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mundi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mundi stopping the sweep attempt from Cain.
Cain seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Cain preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Cain lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mundi will feel that in the morning.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Cain, as that shot connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Cain dominated that second round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Mundi is rocked!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Mundi checks a leg kick.
And Mundi tries to counter it with a takedown but Cain pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Mundi is still on wobbly legs! Can Cain finish him?
Cain lands a nice shot to the body.
Mundi seems to have recovered his senses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cain lands a big uppercut and Mundi crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Mundi looks OK. Cain waves Mundi back to his feet!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cain throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Mundi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mundi walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Cain swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). David Cain!
