Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicks misses with an uppercut. Ames saw that one coming.
Nicks's corner calls for a 1-2. Nicks obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Ames tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nicks. Ames does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ames goes for a double leg but Nicks avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nicks continues to drive forward.
Nicks misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ames.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nicks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ames moves away.
Ames tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Nicks is looking to wear down Ames with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Ames keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nicks.

Ames postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Nicks is looking to stand back up but Ames counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Nicks.
Nicks tries to kick Ames off but Ames keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Ames drops an elbow to the side of Nicks's head.
Ames works his foot free and advances to mount.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ames lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Ames has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Nicks's face.
Ames is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nicks can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Ames wants to control the pace but Nicks is squirming around nicely.
Oh Nicks is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ames unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Nicks wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Ames celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
