The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Downs is fending him off so far but Woodman persists. Nope, Downs circles away and we're back to standing.
Downs stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Downs wants it to stay on the feet.
Woodman plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

It looks like Von Downs has been cut.

Woodman clinches up against the cage.
Woodman dodges an elbow strike from Downs.
Downs swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Woodman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Woodman throws a right hand that Downs ducks under and follows up with a left that Downs also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Woodman sneaks out the side door and pushes Downs away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Woodman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Woodman closes the distance and pushes Downs back into the cage.
Woodman blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Woodman successfully pulls guard.
Downs slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Downs gets to his feet - Woodman follows without any prompting.

Downs just misses with a punch to the body.

Downs scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Woodman on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Downs tries to stand but can't do so whilst Woodman controls his leg.
Woodman wants to control the action here but instead Downs manages to pass to full mount!

Downs is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Woodman can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Downs has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Downs cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Woodman tries to hold on but Downs pushes him away.

Downs looking to isolate an arm here. Woodman doesn't see it coming and as Downs extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Downs!
