Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges Cro Cop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Scream - Avenged Sevenfold. John Johnson had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Cro Cop!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cro Cop throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cro Cop off to one side.

Johnson feints and as Cro Cop raises his hands in defense, Johnson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cro Cop working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cro Cop is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Cro Cop wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.
Johnson is stalling in the full guard.

Johnson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Cro Cop is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cro Cop tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cro Cop lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like John Johnson has been cut.
Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cro Cop tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance.
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cro Cop tries for a takedown but Johnson circles away easily

and Johnson counters with a single leg into guard. Cro Cop didn't expect that.

Johnson won't allow Cro Cop to sweep him here.
Johnson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Cro Cop wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.
Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Cro Cop is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Johnson will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Johnson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cro Cop to the mat! Cro Cop manages to get full guard.

Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cro Cop on the ground.

Cro Cop wants to control but Johnson passes easily into half guard.
Johnson is thwarting Cro Cop's attempts to control the position.
Cro Cop is breathing heavily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cro Cop lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Johnson!
Johnson is trying to escape the mount.

Cro Cop looking to ground and pound but Johnson is blocking nicely.
Cro Cop tries to push Johnson's head away but Johnson is holding on tight.
Cro Cop sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Cro Cop wants to control the pace but Johnson is squirming around nicely.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cro Cop tries to get up but Johnson was controlling his body and he's reversed into guard.
Cro Cop controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Cro Cop tries to clinch but Johnson moves away

and Johnson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Johnson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Cro Cop is wriggling around but Johnson manages to pass to half guard.
Cro Cop is trying to maintain the position but Johnson is very close to passing his half guard.
Cro Cop moves into full guard.
Cro Cop being controlled here, momentarily.
Cro Cop takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Cro Cop wants to control the position but Johnson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Cro Cop wants to control the action here but instead Johnson manages to pass to full mount!

Despite being in the dominant position, Georges Cro Cop just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cro Cop gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Johnson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cro Cop's guard.
Cro Cop is looking to stand up but Johnson isn't so interested in that idea.

Cro Cop throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Johnson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Cro Cop is trying to control the position but Johnson postures up.
Cro Cop is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Cro Cop looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Cro Cop is trying to hold Johnson in close to prevent damage but Johnson has managed to pass into half guard.
Johnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Cro Cop is looking to escape.
Cro Cop has a hand on Johnson's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Johnson takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cro Cop can't escape the position.
Cro Cop tries to lock up and control but Johnson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Johnson controlling the pace for now.
Cro Cop tries to hold on but Johnson postures up.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Johnson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Johnson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
