Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Luatua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masamichi Yamaji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luatua's entrance music is Puff Daddy feat Jimmy Page - Come with me. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamaji looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
It looks like Masamichi Yamaji has been cut.
Yamaji jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Yamaji swats away the attempt to clinch by Luatua.
Luatua throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Yamaji counters with a thumping low kick.
Luatua uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Yamaji.
Luatua seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Yamaji lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Robbie Luatua has been cut.
Yamaji has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

That has opened up Masamichi Yamaji's cut even more.

A close round but Masamichi Yamaji will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Luatua takes one on the chin but seems OK.

As Yamaji tries to get set, Luatua tries to push him back and clinch up but Yamaji manages to avoid the attempt.

Luatua creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Yamaji's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Yamaji drops to his knees and Luatua pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Robbie Luatua was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
