PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jc Callahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabio McFly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Fabio McFly was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McFly misses with a wild combination.
Callahan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McFly as he avoids it easily.
McFly misses with a series of wild punches.
McFly lands with a hook. Callahan tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Callahan blocks a head kick by McFly.
Callahan looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Callahan darts in looking for a takedown but McFly gets double underhooks and turns Callahan into the cage.
McFly fails to land with a series of punches.
Fabio McFly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McFly looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

McFly gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Callahan is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jc Callahan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Callahan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Callahan has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McFly is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Callahan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McFly throws out a leg kick but Callahan moves out of range and McFly only half commits.

McFly moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

McFly decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
McFly really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Callahan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McFly is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Callahan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Callahan has his hands clasped together around McFly's back. He's all about the action.
McFly wants to stand up but Callahan has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
McFly throws a nice head kick!
Callahan thumps McFly with a low kick.
McFly throws a leg kick but Callahan sees it coming and checks it nicely.
As McFly looks to move away, Callahan throws a big counter combo but McFly just gets out of the way.
Sloppy strikes from McFly. Those never looked like landing.

and Callahan counters with a series of strikes. McFly will be more careful next time no doubt.
McFly goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Callahan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. McFly manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
McFly walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Callahan checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Callahan appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
McFly misses with a low kick.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Callahan can't get the takedown.
McFly is trying to force a seperation but Callahan has the dominant position.
McFly is trying to break the clinch but Callahan has him pressed against the cage.

McFly manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Callahan doesn't manage to clinch there - McFly circles away.

Callahan has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Fabio McFly seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Callahan fails with a takedown attempt.
Callahan shoots in for a double leg but McFly sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
McFly has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
McFly lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Callahan is rocked!
McFly is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from McFly shuts the power down on Callahan. Lights out, game over! McFly is your winner.
