Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koslov Kovalenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Richards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Koslov Kovalenko!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Kovalenko throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Kovalenko has Richards up against the cage in a clinch.
Kovalenko lands a right hand.
Richards blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Kovalenko lands a takedown into guard.
Kovalenko working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Richards's head.

Richards is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kovalenko is aware though and is defending well.

Richards lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Richards drops back looking for a leg! Kovalenko is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kovalenko manages to kick Richards off! Richards jumps back into Kovalenko's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Richards stands and throws Kovalenko's legs to the side, diving into side control.

You can see the frustration on Kovalenko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Richards gets to mount! Kovalenko was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Kovalenko wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

You can see the frustration on Kovalenko's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Kovalenko rushes Richards and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Kovalenko is trying to drag Richards to the mat but Richards just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Richards breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Richards shoots in for a double leg but Kovalenko sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Richards lands a jab-cross combination.
Richards shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kovalenko sprawls well. Kovalenko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Richards gets slowly back to his feet.
The fighters circle momentarily. Kovalenko darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Richards fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kovalenko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Kovalenko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kovalenko goes for a double leg but Richards avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Richards continues to drive forward.
Richards drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kovalenko sprawls and moves away.
Kovalenko is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Richards is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Kovalenko wants the takedown. Richards is fighting it off but Kovalenko persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Richards's guard against the cage.

Richards has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kovalenko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Richards might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kovalenko stands up over Richards, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Kovalenko and the ref steps in to end the fight! Kovalenko can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Koslov Kovalenko!
