The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Behpour lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Mccarthy slips a jab and a cross from Behpour.
Behpour clobbers Mccarthy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Behpour lands with a kick to the temple. Mccarthy shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Behpour has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Mccarthy is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Behpour misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mccarthy swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Mccarthy throws a jab when Behpour was well out of range.

Josh Mccarthy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mccarthy is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Behpour's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Mccarthy throws a jab but it's blocked by Behpour.

Mccarthy blocks a head kick by Behpour.
Behpour with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Mccarthy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Behpour lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Behpour.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Behpour with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Mccarthy to score with a decent uppercut.
Mccarthy misses with a body shot
and Behpour connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Behpour.
Mccarthy scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
It looks like Farnad Behpour has been cut.
Mccarthy drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Behpour right on the button. Behpour goes down! Mccarthy follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Mccarthy gets the win via TKO!
