The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Simpson tries to move into range but Davtyan moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Nice straight punches there by Davtyan. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Davtyan.
Davtyan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Davtyan is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Simpson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Davtyan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

No joy there for Davtyan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Simpson throws a big counter combination but Davtyan scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Davtyan has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Davtyan is looking to improve his position.

Simpson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Davtyan sees it coming and defends easily.
Davtyan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simpson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Simpson seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Simpson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Davtyan is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
