The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ying throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ying goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

and Parker counters by moving into the clinch.

Parker manages to pull guard.
Parker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ying manages to get himself to full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ying accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fight stays on the outside here - Parker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Parker is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ying is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Parker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ying with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Parker thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Parker is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ying is just riding it out for now. Parker eventually gives up the hold.

Parker is looking for a kimura but Ying is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Parker to get the leverage.

Ying throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Parker's waist but Parker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ying off to one side.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Parker passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ying!
Parker has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ying's face.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
