Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damian Kita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Griffith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kita's entrance music is Aleja Gwiazd. A fine choice. Griffith has chosen Kirameki as his entrance music. Damian Kita has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Kita.
Griffith gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like Robert Griffith has been cut.

Kita closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Griffith's guard.

Griffith gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Griffith darts in and clinches Kita up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Kita's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Griffith tries to pull guard but Kita won't allow it.
Griffith jumps guard but Kita stands there with Griffith around his waist. Griffith gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Griffith jumps guard and drags Kita to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Kita wants to pass the guard but Griffith is keeping the position.
Kita stays in close to Griffith's body and controls the position.

Griffith controls Kita momentarily but Kita frees himself.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kita bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Griffith's head.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Griffith has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kita wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Griffith manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Griffith has his foot on Kita's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kita works his way back into a safe position though.
Kita passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Kita is stalling here. Griffith is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kita seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Griffith has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Kita tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kita has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Griffith might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kita haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Damian Kita.
