The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Aldo.

Khan tries to sprawl but Aldo drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Aldo seems to be working for a kimura but Khan defends the submission attempt.
Khan is trying to maintain the position but Aldo is very close to passing his half guard.
Aldo prevents Khan from standing back up.

Khan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Aldo pulls his head out easily.
Khan has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Khan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Khan is trying to keep Aldo in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aldo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Khan throws his legs up looking for a submission but Aldo uses it to pass to side control.
Khan wants to get back to his feet.

Khan throws a punch from the bottom, which has left him a bit exposed here… Aldo has an arm triangle now. This could be big trouble for Khan. He's out! He's out cold! The ref pulls Aldo off and Aldo celebrates with his corner.

Jose Aldo spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
