Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jose Mendes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Tyler!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes throws a combination that misses
and Tyler counters with a stiff right hand.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tyler.
Mendes stalks Tyler and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tyler's face. Tyler staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Jake Tyler has been cut.
Tyler fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Tyler drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A head kick misses from Tyler.
Mendes cracks Tyler with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Mendes looks to land a combination but Tyler avoids it well.

Mendes closes the distance and clinches.
Mendes keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Tyler's efforts to push away.
A shot in the inside from Mendes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tyler is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Mendes is keeping busy.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Tyler.

Mendes misses with some punches.

Tyler breaks from the clinch.

Tyler decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Tyler wants to take a breather but Mendes is having none of it.
Well, if Tyler is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Tyler is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mendes has managed to free his arm - good work.

Mendes has one foot on Tyler's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Mendes tries to bum rush Tyler with a series of wild strikes but Tyler uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mendes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mendes smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Mendes lands with a straight right. Tyler didn't see that one coming.
Tyler moves to clinch but Mendes breaks away
and Mendes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Tyler is rocked!

That has opened up Jake Tyler's cut even more.
Tyler on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Tyler is still on wobbly legs! Can Mendes finish him?

Mendes moves into the clinch successfully.
Mendes misses with the head strike.
Tyler is trying to pull guard but Mendes has him pressed against the cage.
Jose Mendes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Tyler.
Mendes throws a head punch that misses.

Tyler breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tyler seems to have recovered his senses.
Tyler shoots for a double leg takedown but Mendes sprawls well. He's pushed Tyler's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tyler looks winded!
Mendes connects with a superb combination that knocks Tyler out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Mendes before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Tyler!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jose Mendes!
Jose Mendes opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
