The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greenebaum uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cooper.
Greenebaum drops down looking for a counter takedown but Cooper sprawls and moves away.
Greenebaum throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Cooper just misses with a punch to the body.
Cooper throws a big shot that misses.
John Cooper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cooper throws a right and a left that Greenebaum avoids nicely.
Greenebaum swings for the body but Cooper moves out of range.
Greenebaum fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Greenebaum counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Cooper!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Greenebaum sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cooper is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Cooper felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Cooper is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Greenebaum is controlling him well.
Greenebaum has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The strikes coming from Greenebaum are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Greenebaum shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Greenebaum showed some decent athleticism there.

Greenebaum in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Cooper tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Greenebaum!

Lorne Greenebaum decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
