The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watanabe moves in looking to clinch but Staynings pushes him off.
Staynings throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Staynings keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Watanabe shoots in but Staynings avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Watanabe gets the takedown into side control.

Watanabe tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Staynings pushes Watanabe away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Watanabe gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Staynings is looking for a sweep.

Watanabe has hold of Staynings's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Staynings seems comfortable defending it but Watanabe has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Staynings is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Staynings is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Watanabe couldn't care less - he's delighted!
