PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Conor Brazier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaka KaSolomon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brazier comes to the cage accompanied by Decisions. KaSolomon has chosen 2-pac as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Conor Brazier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shaka KaSolomon!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

KaSolomon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - KaSolomon lands in his opponent's guard.
Brazier keeping full guard, as KaSolomon tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
KaSolomon trying to control the position from guard on top but Brazier is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
KaSolomon throws an elbow that misses. Brazier uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in KaSolomon's guard. Nice move by Brazier!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brazier is looking to stand up but KaSolomon won't let him.

Brazier gets to his feet - KaSolomon follows without any prompting.
Brazier misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

KaSolomon clinches up with Brazier and pushes him back against the cage.
Brazier lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Brazier is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Brazier misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Brazier's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Shaka KaSolomon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

KaSolomon moves into the clinch.
KaSolomon jumps guard but Brazier turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Brazier scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Brazier misses with an elbow over the top.

The referee calls for Brazier to work.
KaSolomon tries to pull guard but Brazier holds him up against the cage and eventually KaSolomon drops back down to his feet.
Conor Brazier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shaka KaSolomon.

Brazier manages to break the clinch.
KaSolomon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Good leg kick by Brazier there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
KaSolomon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brazier sprawls well. Brazier wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. KaSolomon gets slowly back to his feet.

Brazier comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Brazier gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows KaSolomon to score an easy takedown into full guard.
KaSolomon postures up in Brazier's guard and throws a big left but Brazier blocks it.
KaSolomon throws an elbow that misses. Brazier uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in KaSolomon's guard. Nice move by Brazier!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brazier's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brazier keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
KaSolomon tries for a takedown but Brazier circles away easily
and Brazier counters with a good low kick that KaSolomon was not able to check.
KaSolomon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

KaSolomon takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Brazier fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. KaSolomon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Brazier lands a nice shot to the body.
Brazier scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. KaSolomon doesn't seem bothered though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brazier changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Brazier feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to KaSolomon's calf.
KaSolomon is breathing heavily.
Brazier lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Brazier jabs at KaSolomon's body.
Brazier is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that KaSolomon can do to turn this around?

Brazier lands a two punch combo.
The crowd cheers as Brazier lands an impressive looking overhand right. KaSolomon doesn't seem phased though.

Brazier has managed to clinch.

KaSolomon doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Conor Brazier is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brazier stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Brazier wants it to stay on the feet.
Brazier is looking to wear down KaSolomon with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
KaSolomon on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
A nice leg kick lands there from Brazier.

KaSolomon tries to circle away but Brazier has him pinned against the cage.

KaSolomon tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Brazier just stands there and leans against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Brazier - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Come on Brazier - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Conor Brazier.
KaSolomon takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
KaSolomon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brazier.

Brazier lands with a hook. KaSolomon tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

That has opened up Shaka KaSolomon's cut even more.
KaSolomon closes the distance and clinches up with Brazier, looking for a takedown. KaSolomon pushes Brazier against the cage but Brazier circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Brazier moves into range and clinches up with KaSolomon.

Brazier manages to break the clinch.
Brazier fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
No luck with that takedown attempt from KaSolomon.
KaSolomon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Brazier sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten KaSolomon somewhat.
Brazier appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
KaSolomon has his takedown stuffed
and Brazier counters with a left and a right... And another left! KaSolomon is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Conor Brazier!
A very excited looking Conor Brazier rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
