PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rayford Wise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and MiaJade Stockton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wise fails with an attempt to clinch.
A solid leg kick lands there for Stockton.

Stockton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wise's guard.
Wise wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Stockton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wise is keeping the position for now.
Stockton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Stockton is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Stockton gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Stockton gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Stockton apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Wise shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stockton as he avoids it easily.

Wise jumps guard and drags Stockton to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Stockton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wise. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Stockton has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Stockton is fighting to break Wise's control of his arms but Wise is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Wise escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stockton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Wise manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stockton manages to get himself to full guard.

Stockton with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Wise can't handle though.
Stockton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Stockton might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Wise haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wise kicks Stockton off and gets back to his feet.
Stockton misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Wise drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wise is standing up over Stockton. Stockton looks to escape but Wise dives into side control.
Wise will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

MiaJade Stockton is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Wise is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Stockton is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Stockton flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Wise anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Stockton and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Wise slips an arm under Stockton chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Wise has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Wise is squeezing on Stockton like an anaconda would it's prey. Stockton fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
