The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spartan drives through and clinches with Valentine against the cage.
Spartan landing knees to the body.
Valentine takes an elbow to the forehead.

It looks like Dane Valentine has been cut.
Valentine tries to circle away but Spartan has him pinned against the cage.
Valentine swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Spartan lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Spartan lands a damaging elbow.
Valentine takes an elbow to the forehead.
Spartan avoids a wild elbow strike from Valentine.
Valentine has had enough of the clinch but Spartan keeps him there for the moment.
Valentine wants to break free but Spartan has control.

Dane Valentine's cut is getting worse.
Spartan has Valentine pressed against the cage. He pushes Valentine back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Spartan throws a beautiful elbow that sends Valentine crashing to the floor! Spartan piles on the pressure with more strikes! Valentine is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
