Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sase Tiwari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and MItre Mitroski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tiwari comes into the arena with "One Blood (Feat. Junior Reid)" by The Game blaring out of the sound system. MItre Mitroski has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, MItre Mitroski!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitroski shoots in and drives through. Tiwari sprawls well.

Mitroski moves into the clinch successfully.
Tiwari tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mitroski avoids it.
Mitroski jumps guard but Tiwari stands there with Mitroski around his waist. Mitroski gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mitroski takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Mitroski goes for a takedown attempt but Tiwari pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sase Tiwari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of MItre Mitroski.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mitroski attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Mitroski has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tiwari is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Tiwari has been working on his balance at Cozad The Island, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Mitroski.

Mitroski is trying to push Tiwari away but Tiwari has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Tiwari tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mitroski defends well and Tiwari ends up having to push Mitroski into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Tiwari is trying to drag Mitroski to the mat but Mitroski just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Mitroski drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tiwari gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mitroski goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tiwari crunches a lovely knee into Mitroski's ribcage.
Mitroski tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Tiwari's elbow.
The referee is keeping an eye on Mitroski - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Tiwari jumps guard and drags Mitroski to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mitroski moves into the clinch.

Mitroski breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mitroski shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tiwari but Tiwari pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Mitroski has managed to clinch.
Mitroski is pressed up against the cage. Tiwari has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mitroski down to the mat. Mitroski avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sase Tiwari. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mitroski buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mitroski enables Tiwari to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mitroski manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fight stays on the outside here - Mitroski looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mitroski throws a body punch but Tiwari moves out of range.
Tiwari changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Mitroski shoots in looking for a takedown but Tiwari manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mitroski's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Mitroski darts in looking for a takedown but Tiwari gets double underhooks and turns Mitroski into the cage.
Tiwari shoots in looking for a takedown. Mitroski tries to sprawl out of it but Tiwari keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mitroski manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Tiwari bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mitroski is squirming around, avoiding Tiwari's attempts to control the action.
Tiwari lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
