The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcintyre throws a nice head kick!
Mcintyre really is a fat lump.

Mcintyre tries to sprawl but Maboso drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Maboso seems to be working for a kimura but Mcintyre defends the submission attempt.
Maboso throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Mcintyre is looking to control Maboso's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mcintyre avoid being mounted?

Maboso takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Maboso slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Let's hope that Maboso has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mcintyre throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Maboso's head.

Maboso closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Maboso lands in his opponent's guard.

Mcintyre knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maboso on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Mcintyre counters with a good, hard body kick but Maboso shrugs it off.

Maboso drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Maboso is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Mcintyre is trying to control the position but Maboso postures up.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Mcintyre changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Maboso tries to avoid it but Mcintyre manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Maboso to the ground. Maboso escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mahamadou Maboso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maboso closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mcintyre quickly recovers to half guard.
Well, if Maboso is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Maboso has an Americana. Mcintyre didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Maboso is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Maboso hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
