PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xander Boudewijn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jono Levero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boudewijn comes to the cage accompanied by The Streets - Blinded by the Lights. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Xander Boudewijn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jono Levero!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boudewijn throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Levero displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Boudewijn throws out the jab.
Levero uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Boudewijn.
Levero tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Boudewijn swivels and escapes.

Levero drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Boudewijn is trying to control Levero's posture but Levero avoids it.

Levero tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Levero has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Boudewijn can't do much from the bottom here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Levero stands up and beckons Boudewijn to his feet.
Levero tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Boudewijn was well out of range. Poor timing from Levero.
Levero closes this distance looking for a takedown but Boudewijn circles away.
Levero shoots in looking for a takedown. Boudewijn tries to sprawl out of it but Levero keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boudewijn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Xander Boudewijn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jono Levero.
Boudewijn scores with a crisp jab that stopped Levero in his tracks.

It looks like Jono Levero has been cut.
Levero takes one to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Boudewijn scores with a decent looking hook.
Boudewijn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Levero looks gassed!
Levero goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Levero walks into a jab.

That has opened up Jono Levero's cut even more.
Xander Boudewijn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Boudewijn jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Levero misses with a low kick.
Boudewijn takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Levero ducks straight into an uppercut from Boudewijn and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Levero maanges to regain guard straight away.

Levero is rocked!

The cut above Jono Levero's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Levero wants to stand and escape but Boudewijn is having none of it.

Levero is working an open guard so Boudewijn takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Boudewijn connects with the punch.
Boudewijn throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Boudewijn bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Levero! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Levero is still in real trouble! Can Boudewijn finish him?

Jono Levero's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jono Levero's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Xander Boudewijn!
