The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thrul jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Garcia throws an overhand right that lands on Thrul's shoulder, as Thrul tries to avoid the shot.
Garcia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thrul tries to avoid it but Garcia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thrul to the ground. Thrul escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Thrul throws a head kick but Garcia moves out of range.
Thrul throws a right hand that Garcia ducks under and follows up with a left that Garcia also avoids with ease.

Garcia tries to score a body lock takedown but Thrul shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Garcia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Garcia has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Thrul is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Garcia.

Thrul uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Garcia has time to react.

Thrul tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Garcia defends well and Thrul ends up having to push Garcia into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
