Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bartek Pietrzak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 18 - 3, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Beckett!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Beckett crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Pietrzak - the referee stops the clock and Beckett gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Pietrzak. Beckett manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Beckett moves forwards but Pietrzak connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Beckett steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pietrzak.
Pietrzak darts in looking for a takedown but Beckett gets double underhooks and turns Pietrzak into the cage.
Beckett slips under a jab.
Beckett looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Pietrzak throws a head kick that half lands.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beckett digs a good hook to Pietrzak's body.
Beckett misses with a takedown attempt - Pietrzak sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Beckett counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Beckett uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pietrzak.
Beckett moves out of range as Pietrzak throws a body kick.

Beckett scores with a head kick. Pietrzak tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Pietrzak ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Beckett misses with a wild body shot.

Beckett scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Beckett throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pietrzak on the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pietrzak tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Beckett was well out of range. Poor timing from Pietrzak.

Bartek Pietrzak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Good leg kick by Beckett there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Pietrzak walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Beckett checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Beckett lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Pietrzak shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Beckett as he jumps to the side.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Beckett fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Pietrzak is out of range.

Jim Beckett showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Pietrzak.
And Beckett tries to counter it with a takedown but Pietrzak pushes his down on his head and steps out.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bartek Pietrzak.
I think Pietrzak has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
