Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Colin Bonner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lachie Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lachie Green has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Colin Bonner's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Colin Bonner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lachie Green!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Skip Squint and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Green moves into the clinch.
Green is trying to force a seperation but Bonner has the dominant position.
Bonner trying to stall but Green improves his position.

Green successfully pulls guard.
Bonner working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Bonner trying to stand up but can't free himself from Green's guard.
Bonner trying to control the position from guard on top but Green is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Green pushes Bonner off and scrambles back to his feet.
Green tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bonner defends well and Green ends up having to push Bonner into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Lachie Green seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Green.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bonner lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Green dives in and grabs Bonner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bonner pushes down on Green's head and hops out.
Bonner attempts a counter takedown but Green avoids it well and moves away.
Colin Bonner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lachie Green.

Bonner tries to score a body lock takedown but Green shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Green throws the kick towards the body but Bonner avoids it.
Green will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bonner feinted with a counter takedown.

Bonner gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Green tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bonner smiles and moves away.

Bonner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Green shoots in but no luck this time.
Green looks winded!
Green changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bonner tries to avoid it but Green manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bonner to the ground. Bonner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Green dives in and grabs Bonner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bonner pushes down on Green's head and hops out.
Green doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bonner counters with a leg kick.

Green has taken the fight to the clinch.
Green gets underhooks to prevent Bonner's takedown attempt.
Bonner avoids the elbow strike from Green, against the cage.
Bonner is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Green to keep the fight standing.
Bonner jumps guard but Green stands there with Bonner around his waist. Bonner gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bonner drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Green gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Green is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bonner is defending well.

Bonner ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bonner no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Green content to stall in guard here.
Bonner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A close round but Lachie Green will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Green pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bonner is out of range and Green settles back down.
A head kick misses from Green.
Green tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bonner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Green somewhat.
A slapping leg kick lands for Bonner.

Green shoots in but Bonner avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bonner half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Bonner tries to clinch up but Green circles away and keeps his distance.

It looked like Bonner was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Bonner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bonner gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Bonner is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Green changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Bonner throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

and Bonner holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Bonner is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Green is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Bonner pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Bonner pulls guard effortlessly.

Green is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Green drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bonner manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Green has Bonner in his guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Green looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Colin Bonner dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Green shoots for a double leg takedown but Bonner sprawls well. He's pushed Green's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bonner tries to pull guard but Green holds him up against the cage and eventually Bonner drops back down to his feet.

Bonner tries to pull guard but Green won't allow it.

Bonner jumps guard but Green stands there with Bonner around his waist. Bonner gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Green trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Green postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Bonner looking to control but Green passes into half guard.

Bonner looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Green content to control rather than advance.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Green is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bonner is just riding it out for now. Green eventually gives up the hold.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Bonner flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Green moves into range and clinches up with Bonner.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lachie Green comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Green has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
