PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rei Trevis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Meyer Lansky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lansky has chosen Rag’n’Bone Man - Wolves as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rei Trevis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Meyer Lansky!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lansky tries to clinch up but Trevis circles away and keeps his distance.
Lansky keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lansky stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lansky wants it to stay on the feet.

Trevis tries to keep at a distance but Lansky has taken the fight into the clinch.
Trevis blocks an uppercut.

Trevis jumps into guard, dragging Lansky to the mat.
Trevis wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Lansky is now in half guard.
Trevis wants to sweep but Lansky has passed to side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trevis tries to buck Lansky off but Lansky is having none of it.

Lansky stands up.

Lansky drives through and clinches with Trevis against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Trevis breaks from the clinch.
Lansky slaps away a takedown attempt from Trevis, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rei Trevis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lansky closes the distance and clinches.
Trevis stalling in the clinch but Lansky improves position.
Lansky throws a punch but it's blocked by Trevis.
Lansky misses with some punches.
Lansky misses with some punches.
Trevis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lansky walks away with a smile on his face. Trevis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Lansky forces Trevis back against the cage and clinches.
Lansky throws a punch but it's blocked by Trevis.
Lansky misses with a punch on the inside.
Lansky misses with a punch on the inside.
Trevis is trying to pull guard but Lansky has him pressed against the cage.
Lansky misses with a punch on the inside.
Lansky swings wildly with an uppercut but Trevis uses good head movement to avoid it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Trevis blocking some punches.
Lansky keeps control of Trevis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Trevis tries to pull guard but Lansky holds him up against the cage and eventually Trevis drops back down to his feet.
Lansky lands a right hand that snaps the head of Trevis backwards.
Trevis blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Lansky swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Lansky fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Trevis jumps guard but Lansky stands there with Trevis around his waist. Trevis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lansky tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Trevis tries to stall but Lansky uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Trevis is looking to take this one to the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Trevis jumps guard and drags Lansky to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Lansky stands and steps away. Trevis gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Trevis goes for a double leg but Lansky avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lansky continues to drive forward.
Trevis looks to land a body kick but Lansky moved away.
Lansky swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lansky moves into the clinch.
Lansky working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Trevis is trying to break free.

Lansky makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Lansky lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Trevis backwards.
Trevis wants to take the fight to the mat but Lansky manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Trevis is breathing heavily.
Trevis is trying to pull guard but Lansky turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
A short uppercut from Lansky.
Lansky has a couple of punches blocked by Trevis.
Trevis blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Trevis jumps guard but Lansky stands there with Trevis around his waist. Trevis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Trevis blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Lansky lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lansky lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Trevis backwards.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lansky.
Trevis blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Lansky misses with a short punch on the inside.
Lansky misses with the head strike.
Lansky swings wildly with an uppercut but Trevis uses good head movement to avoid it.
Trevis is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Lansky keeps control of Trevis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lansky.
Trevis blocking some punches.
Trevis wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A short uppercut from Lansky.
Lansky swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Lansky pushes Trevis against the cage. Lansky is working some dirty boxing. Lansky pushes off with a quick right hook! Trevis goes down! Trevis tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Lansky moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Meyer Lansky!
Meyer Lansky decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
