Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thanh Fox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joy Rones Jr!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fox tries to sprawl but Rones Jr drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Fox has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Rones Jr is on him like a limpet, forcing Fox back against the cage.

Rones Jr drags the fight down to the ground.

Fox thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rones Jr pushes Fox off and scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rones Jr looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Rones Jr showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Rones Jr content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Fox not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rones Jr is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Rones Jr slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
It looks like Rones Jr might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Fox is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rones Jr defends well.
Rones Jr is looking to advance position but Fox has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Fox throws some wild stikes that Rones Jr manages to avoid easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rones Jr gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Fox gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rones Jr to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rones Jr is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Joy Rones Jr has got the better of the ground game so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Joy Rones Jr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Fox looks to throw a body kick

and Rones Jr counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Rones Jr content to stall in guard here.
Rones Jr's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rones Jr is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Rones Jr is working Fox over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Fox has his foot on Rones Jr's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rones Jr works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Rones Jr closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Fox did well to prevent Rones Jr getting side control.
Rones Jr working over Fox with some ground and pound. Fox looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rones Jr gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Rones Jr moves into range and clinches up with Fox.

Rones Jr ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rones Jr no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Rones Jr scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fox shoots in looking for a takedown. Rones Jr tries to sprawl out of it but Fox keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rones Jr manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rones Jr let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Rones Jr feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Fox is rocked!

Rones Jr decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Oh Fox is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rones Jr ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Fox out cold! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joy Rones Jr!
