PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Career Over (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takashi Kadota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over comes to the cage accompanied by Rage against the machine - Bombtrack. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Takashi Kadota was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Takashi Kadota!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Over scores with a nice strike.
Over lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Over throws an overhand right that lands on Kadota's shoulder, as Kadota tries to avoid the shot.

Over closes the distance and clinches.
Over fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Kadota pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Over closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Kadota blocks the body kick.
Over turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Kadota tries to keep at a distance but Over has taken the fight into the clinch.
Over lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kadota is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Over can't fight it off and eventually Kadota manages to take the fight to the floor. Over looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Over is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Over scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Over blocks the body kick.

Kadota walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Over checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Kadota dives in and scores a takedown into Over 's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Over manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Over .

Kadota misses with a hook from the clinch.

Kadota has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Over uses from the top position.

Over stands and steps away. Kadota gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Over moves into the clinch successfully.
Over tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Kadota closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Over pushes Kadota away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kadota gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The ground and pound from Kadota seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Career Over is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kadota changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

and Over counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Over darts in and clinches Kadota up against the cage.

Over wants to take the fight to the mat but Kadota manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Kadota has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Over uses from the top position.

Over is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kadota is controlling him well.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Kadota turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kadota manages to end up in side control.

and Over counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Over lands a big uppercut and Kadota crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kadota looks OK. Over waves Kadota back to his feet!

That kick from Over tenderised Kadota's leg. Kadota is trying to keep his angry face on.
Kadota is still on wobbly legs! Can Over finish him?
Over is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Kadota hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
