Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brochan Darrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyman Kissell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lyman Kissell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Brochan Darrow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lyman Kissell!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darrow lands a nice looking body shot.
Kissell throws a sloppy head kick and Darrow moves out of range easily.
Brochan Darrow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Darrow is looking to score with low kicks.
Kissell uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Darrow.
Kissell unleashes a big counter combination but Darrow bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Darrow looks to score with a jab to the body but Kissell is just out of range.
Darrow throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kissell makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kissell.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brochan Darrow dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kissell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Darrow is looking to wear down Kissell with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Darrow was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Kissell ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Kissell feints and as Darrow raises his hands in defense, Kissell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Darrow pulls Kissell in close to prevent any damage.
Kissell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kissell postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Darrow is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kissell, into his guard.

Kissell lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Lyman Kissell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A quick step to the side and Darrow tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brochan Darrow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lyman Kissell.

No joy there for Kissell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

It looks like Lyman Kissell has been cut.
Kissell just misses with a punch to the body.

Darrow takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Kissell throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Darrow misses with a low kick.
Darrow swings for the body but Kissell moves out of range.
Darrow jabs Kissell to the body, keeping him at a distance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kissell enables Darrow to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kissell manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Darrow content to stall in guard here.

Kissell isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Darrow stacks Kissell on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Darrow!
Kissell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
