Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Albert DeSalvo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vassily Solomin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vassily Solomin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Albert DeSalvo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vassily Solomin!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Solomin.
Vassily Solomin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Solomin misses with an uppercut
and DeSalvo counters with a single leg into guard. Solomin didn't expect that.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as DeSalvo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Solomin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as DeSalvo controls the pace.
DeSalvo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
DeSalvo passes Solomin's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Solomin tries to kick DeSalvo off but DeSalvo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Well, if DeSalvo is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Solomin tries to kick DeSalvo off but DeSalvo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Solomin can do anything to dispel that myth.
Solomin is looking to get back to is feet but DeSalvo passes into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Solomin bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
DeSalvo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - DeSalvo lands in his opponent's guard.
DeSalvo is standing up over Solomin. Solomin looks to escape but DeSalvo dives into side control.
Solomin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with DeSalvo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
DeSalvo moves into full mount!
DeSalvo working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Solomin turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips DeSalvo off and cradles Solomin's limp body as DeSalvo celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Albert DeSalvo!
