PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bob Marley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genki Sudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marley swings for the body but Sudo moves out of range.
Sudo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Marley ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sudo moves away.
Sudo looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Marley misses with a body shot.
Sudo doesn't manage to clinch there - Marley circles away.
Marley drops down looking for a counter takedown but Sudo sprawls and moves away.
The fighters circling - Marley throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Sudo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Marley manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Sudo goes for a double leg but Marley avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Marley continues to drive forward.

Sudo shoots for a double leg takedown but Marley sprawls well. He's pushed Sudo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
As Sudo tries to get set, Marley tries to push him back and clinch up but Sudo manages to avoid the attempt.
Bob Marley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Genki Sudo.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sudo enables Marley to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sudo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Sudo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Marley here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Marley throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sudo was covering up waiting for the punch and Marley finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Sudo is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Marley has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Sudo is looking to defend but Marley has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Sudo! Marley pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Sudo taps out and this one is all over!
