Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Lazada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baki Hanma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lazada comes to the cage accompanied by America - Sandman. Gabriel Lazada has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hanma tries to keep at a distance but Lazada has taken the fight into the clinch.

Lazada breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hanma shoots in for a double leg but Lazada sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hanma should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Despite the aggression on Hanma's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Hanma has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lazada is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Hanma feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lazada has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Hanma has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lazada takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Lazada changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hanma looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Lazada wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hanma, who protects the arm well.
Hanma tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lazada wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gabriel Lazada overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
I wouldn't like to be where Hanma is right now.

Lazada thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Lazada is staying tight to Hanma's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hanma.
Lazada lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Baki Hanma has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
